there was a comment made today regarding the prostitute shoes at Target. I declared that shoes that are 4 inches high do not make them prostitute shoes and that it is slut shamming. The following comment was well if you are a slut, you should be ashamed.

My mother bought me a pair of dollhouse 4 1/2 inch heels. That are beautiful and make my feel hurt. However, considering I’ve not had sex with anyone ever, the implication that they are slut shoes is clearly misguided. However, even if I was were having sex with multiple people every day, me wearing those shoes don’t make you any more justified.

I need people to know it’s not okay, but I keep pointing it out and no one seems bothered. Keep fighting the good fight.

People please realize that slut-shaming is not okay. It is never your place or business to dictate how everyone sexual life follows.

Hi! I just started a tumblr, the Transgender Couchsurfing Network.  After seeing dozens of posts come across my dash about displaced or homeless trans people needing places to crash, I decided that there had to be a way to organize these posts somehow, and to put those in need in contact with those willing to lend a hand.  If you’re trans and need a place to stay, or if you have a couch or floor or spare bedroom available for someone in need, I urge you to reblog this post, follow the blog, and get the word out.  Everything is still under heavy construction, but the more people that see and hear about this blog, the more people will be able to benefit from it!  I know that there are so many people here on tumblr who are in need of a place to stay for a night or two, and I also know how many amazing, wonderful people would be willing to host someone and help out a trans person in need.  We all know what a huge problem unemployment and homelessness are for trans people (especially TPOC and trans women) — even a place to stay for a night can make the biggest difference!  So PLEASE, even if you can’t offer up your couch, REBLOG AND SIGNAL BOOST.  I really, really think that this is something that could help a lot of people, and I would LOVE to see this spammed all over my dash and the dashes of all of my lovely followers!!

Sometimes I’m concerned my family would rather that a member be gay than asexual aromantic

Then I think that this would be much worse in the 60s and would have made that member marry someone he didn’t love. I wish they wouldn’t ignore the possibility and stop forcing ideas he has no interest in.

ATTENTION: TUMBLR USERS IN NORTH CAROLINA

The North Carolina General Assembly has introduced a constitutional amendment to the North Carolina State Constitution which would “provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State.”

Voting on the amendment is at the 2012 PRIMARY on MAY 8th, not in November.

Aside from the obvious discriminatory nature of the amendment, it is poorly worded and thought out and would harm the rights of ALL couples.

Remember to vote ‘AGAINST’ this amendment.

Too bad this amendment is also about taking away health care from children with parents who aren’t married and if you’ve been in a relationship with somebody and they beat you up it isn’t domestic violence it’s just battery. Yes, it limits the rights of LGBT community in North Carolina, but don’t forget about the part that says it affects all couples. Don’t fall into the ruse of it just being about gay marriage, focusing on that let’s the people who are against gay marriage make a wrong decision in the voting booth.
